Columbus, Neb. -- Indian Hills was on the right side twice and wrong side twice in four lopsided scores over the weekend in a tournament hosted by Central Community College.
The Warriors blanked the host school 10-0 on Friday and walloped North Platte 13-1 Saturday. But they lost 11-4 to McCook and 13-1 to Southeast Nebraska.
Kendle Schieber fired a one-hit shutout in the win on Friday, striking out 11. She also homered, doubled and drove in five runs. Hiliary Pennington had three hits and three runs scored. Kaylyn Decock and Felisha Durflinger both had run-scoring doubles.
Kaitlyn Matzen homered in the loss to McCook and Olivia Starcevich and Laci Moore each had two hits.
Schieber was also the winner in Saturday's game with North Platte, another five-inning performance with three hits allowed and seven Ks. Matzen hit two homers and Durflinger one. Those two along with Liz Penrose all had three RBIs.
The Warriors were held to five hits in the loss to Southeast Nebraska, with Carrie Hudson getting two of them. Southeast scored all of their 13 runs in the first two innings.
