Beaver, Holmes Have Standout Seasons for IWC

Ottumwa -- Two former Indian Hills softball players completed their careers at Iowa Wesleyan College by being named All-Americans and playing in the national tournament.

Outfielder Tory Beaver and pitcher Sonja Holmes, both seniors, were selected to the USCAA All-American team and helped lead Iowa Wesleyan to the USCAA National Championships.

Beaver posted a .457 batting average during the regular season with four homers, eight doubles, three triples and a robust .734 slugging percentage.  She was also named to the USCAA All-Academic Team.

Holmes was the top pitcher for the Tigers, compiling an 8-4 record with four shutouts.

As freshmen at Indian Hills, Beaver and Holmes played on the 2010 Indian Hills team that qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament in St. George, Utah.

In their first season in the USCAA, Iowa Wesleyan finished fourth in the national tourney, splitting four games there.
