Warriors Go 1-2 in Rain-Shortened Tourney in Missouri

Joplin, Missouri -- Indian Hills played three of the five games they were slated to play at the Carthage Bash before Sunday rains ended the tournament prematurely.

The Warriors lost to Northern Oklahoma - Tonkawa 9-1, defeated Maple Woods 4-1 and dropped a 2-0 decision to Three Rivers on Saturday. 

Mackenzie Haight picked up her first win for the Warriors in the victory against Maple Woods, tossing a complete-game six-hitter. She walked two and struck out two.

IHCC got all four runs in the 1st with Kaylyn Decock driving in two of them.  Kendle Schieber had two of the Warriors' eight hits.

Schieber lost a tough decision in the Three Rivers game, giving up seven hits and striking out nine in a route-going effort.  Indian Hills managed only four hits, from four different players.

Northern Oklahoma settled things early in the day's first game, scoring eight runs in the first three innings.  The Warriors had three hits with Cheyenne Ellis driving in Hiliary Pennington with their only run.  Courtney Collins got the start and took the loss with Schieber throwing 5 2/3 innings of relief with five Ks.

Indian Hills had its two scheduled games on Sunday rained out.  The Warriors return to action in a doubleheader at North Central Missouri on Tuesday.
